KGB DEFECTOR YURI BEZMENOV'S WARNING TO AMERICA: 29 YEARS AGO, Soviet defector and KGB operative Yuri Bezmenov, specializing in the fields of Marxist-Leninist propaganda and ideological subversion; warned us about the silent war being waged against America as part of a long term plan to take over and destroy the American system and way of life. Yuri Alexandrovich Bezmenov (Russian 1939 – 1993), known by the alias Tomas David Schuman, 

was a Soviet journalist for RIA Novosti and a former KGB operatice who defected to Canada.

After being assigned to a station in India, Bezmenov began to resent the KGB-sanctioned oppression of intellectuals who dissented from Moscow's policies. 

He decided to defect to the West (Canada)

Bezmenov is best remembered for his anticommunist lectures and books from the 1980s.
